| On May 10, 2017 Justin Davis lied to me for the first time.....
It's a weird way to start off the proposal story, but it's true. I've come to forgive him, which is good... because I agreed to spend the rest of my life with him.
May 10th is already a very special day to me. It's the day that I get to celebrate my mother's and best friend's birthday! So on May 10th, Justin planned to come meet me after work and we were going to go for a hike and then meet Liz for dinner to celebrate her birthday. Justin told me that he was going to "have lunch with Tim" (the lie) and then meet me afterwards. Justin and I have a mutual friend, Timothy O'Conner, who you can learn more about under the wedding party tab. I thought Justin was having lunch with THIS Tim. Little did I know, Justin actually planned to have lunch with my father, also called Tim, to ask for his blessing for my hand in marriage. Justin met me at my house after I got off work, we grabbed Watson and headed out for our hike. Justin suggested that we go to "the waterfall." It's at Laurel Hill State Park, the first place Justin and I hiked together on our fourth date. We hiked out to the the waterfall and Justin said that he had written me a letter. We sat down on the rocks beside the waterfall and he read this beautiful, heart-felt letter to me, got down on one knee, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I ethustically said, "Yes!" and then I kissed him. Frantically, I realized I didn't know if he asked for my dad's blessing. When I asked, he got this goofy grin and responded with, "I told you I had lunch with Tim." I tend to smack when I'm caught off guard. So yes. I smacked him! (Please refrain from any goose-related jokes.)
Afterwards, we went and had dinner with Liz and shared our good news by revealing the ring that was hidden behind the menu. She was so overcome with joy, she stood up, reach acrossed the booth, and smacked Justin! We're best friends for a reason.
